BBQ AT THE TURKS - RAIN OR SHINE!!
THIS IS A FAMILY EVENT!!

Pam & Jonathan Turk have invited everyone for a BBQ (kosher) after a short morning ride. We had a ride scheduled to the Marriott, but we felt no one would mind it being changed.  Bring your bathing suits and towels.   So this is for everyone ... whether you want to ride with the group, or just ride or drive to the BBQ!! 

Staging: 

We will meet at the BP Station located at 5440 Glades Road in Boca (S.E. corner of Butts and Glades Roads) at 10:00 AM and Depart at 10:30 am

Our ride will take us up to Palm Beach and then to the BBQ around 12:00pm.

Turk's Address:  4114 Birchwood Drive, Boca Raton (Pheasant Walk Development) off of Military Trail between Yamato and Linton.  When you enter Pheasant Walk from Military Trail, the road is Pheasant Way.  Continue down to your 3rd right (Raintree), 1st left (Sugar Pine) then 4th right is Birchwood.

This will also allow us to contact the restaurant ahead of time with a count.**

KDBSF has been asked to assist in this very important event.  We will assist on our bikes in the lead of the runners, the trail of the walkers and the traffic control along with the Florida State Troopers.  This will be an early event and we will be staging (see below) at 6:00 am for this event as we begin our duties at 6:45 am.

 The entire community is invited to begin Broward County’s day-long celebration of Israel 61 on Sunday, May 3, 2009, as the David Posnack Hebrew Day School hosts its 5th Annual Sprint for the Finish at:

Markham Park

16001 W. State Road 84

Sunrise, Florida


Race Day sign-in begins at 6:00 a.m.  The 5K begins at 7:30 a.m. 

The 5K is managed by Split Second Timing and is a USTAF sanctioned and course certified with the use of the “ChampionChip”. 


Broward County Salute to Israel 61

The signature program of the year would be “Israel 60 Day of Festivities” to be held at NOVA Southeastern University in the Student Center. This program would include:
  • Israeli and local Jewish entertainment (Israeli singer-in-residence)
  • An Israeli-styled marketplace
  • Israeli food
  • Children’s programming
  • Keynote comments from elected officials
  • Major donors pre-event
  • Organizational involvement from agencies, synagogues, and organizations from across the Broward Jewish community
  • Media ‘blitz’ throughout Broward County on radio, television, the Internet, and in print publications
  • Ride/Walk for Israel
  • Community-wide Israel Shabbat programming (the Shabbat prior to Israel 61)
  • Ulpan Israel – information on Hebrew learning classes across Broward County
  • Display of County and city ‘Israel 61’ proclamations.
